Pajama Party for Younger Girls

My girls wanted to have a slumber party and since they are too young for one, and probably will never be allowed to go to one, we opted for a pajama party where all the girls go home before bed instead.  It was kind of a last hurrah before going back to school.

INVITATIONS--For the invitations I went simple.  I found a clipart of bunny slippers and put it on the front.  The inside said to come dressed in their pj's and to have their hair down if they wanted curlers.

ACTIVITIES--Before the party I cut a bunch of strips of fabric about an inch wide and long enough to tie into knots on flip flops and in hair.  I went to the dollar store and found a bunch of flips flops.  Bigger is always better.  I did not do so good with that.  I anticipated the girls would have close to the same size as my oldest, but that was not the case.  They worked okay anyway.  While the girls were coming they got to pick their flip flops and the colors of fabric they wanted and started tying.  I helped the littler ones with theirs.  Then they did their nails.  I put a table cloth on the table and had all different colors of fingernail polish on it.  A throw-away table cloth would have been best, had I been thinking straight.  They got to go to the table and pick their color and put it on themselves (which I never let mine do normally.)  They really liked to be able to do it themselves and be as creative as they wanted.  I'm glad I didn't have to wash polish off their faces! Then we put blankets and pillows everywhere and they sat and ate pizza, popcorn, and peanut M&Ms while watching a movie.  It was a little hard getting them to sit for the movie.  They wanted to run around screaming and kept going into the bathroom so they could see their glow-in-the-dark nail polish.  Through this whole time, when I wasn't doing flip flops or painting nails, I was tying the girls hair into curls with the fabric scraps.  I had done my girls before the party started knowing I wouldn't have time during.

FAVORS--I didn't really give favors since this wasn't a birthday or anything, but they did get to go home in their flip flops and curlers.

All in all this was really fun for the girls.  A little hectic for mom, but it probably would have been easier with some help.
